My Engadget Application

Thank you Engadget for this job opportunity to contribute to the tech community and be a part of your very knowledgeable and feisty team. I've been reading Engadget for so long now that my bookmark has etched an afterimage onto my monitor. I've attached my background information to my blogger profile and included links to the blog I created for Engadget Mobile and my personal blog for the condo community I live in.

Please let me know if you need any additional information from me by contacting me at jaguarajaAThotmailDOTcom or my cell 631-334-1049. I look forward to being at part of the Engadget team and adding my voice to share with the community.

I am available to Engadget both weekdays and weekends. I'm a free man!

It's 10PM, Do you know where your backup is?

Didn't mean to scare you...much, but this is one of those things that so many of us would like to do, but never get around to it. Hmm, maybe I should be going to the gym more often too.

Keeping your backups simple, NAS drives are as easy as plugging the storage device directly into your network. Setup up a RAID 1 or 5 array and you can safely keep all your photos, music, video and pron all in one place! This Buffalo Terastation gives you 1TB of storage goodness allowing you to squirrel away your data to your heart's content. Since I know that all of you have more than one computer, this is the perfect opportunity to access all your content from any computer with out having to leave every computer on. Backups? Piece of cake. Working out? Maybe tomorrow.

Prius. Available today

Hydrogen? aka Vaporware. Sure it's the solution of tomorrow, but therein lies the problem. Tomorrow never seems to come. Those wanting to make a difference today have a real option. As you know, Hybrids use a combination of gas and electric to power the car and pollute less than, well...myself after a Taco Bell run. Thousands of people have put their wallets where their mouths are and plunked down the change to purchase one of these marvels. The only downside? The possibility of a "smug" clog hanging over your town.

Is the Prius a gadget? Absolutely yes, for any of you who have seen it, it's a tech lover's delight. Bluetooth, Keyless start, Voice Navigation, Touch Screen interface, Auto Parallel Park and oh yeah...it's hybrid. Engadgeteers, meet your new car.

Sony A10 Series, HDTV love

My first HDTV. Ahh like my first kiss...no wait, that was kinda awkward. Anyway, what an experience and why did I wait so long...about the HDTV that is. With Cablevision being cheap and only passing the HD signals for the major networks, my HD viewing is limited but enjoyed. For those of you still unbilically tied to your "tube" tv, or those promising themselves to get an HDTV once we leave Iraq, hit up your favorite shopping engine now and break out the lube!

TiVo: too little too late

Few things are as frustrating as having a big beautiful HDTV and no way to record it in it's original beauty. I've got a TiVo and yes she's better than sliced bread, but I feel like cheating on her...with an oh-so-delicious dual-tuner HD cable DVR. I'll miss her loving bloop and blip sounds as well as her charming messages to me about lineup changes. If TiVo 3 ends up as good as it sounds, I may even return to her with a new found love.

Sony's DSC-N1 the future of digicams?

The thinnest? No. Lightest? No. Biggest touchscreen available? Ding ding ding! With a 3" touch screen and fewer buttons than Apple's remote, it's the average joe's perfect cam. Eliminating the viewfinder and using the real estate for a huge touchscreen seems to be the future of digital cameras. Most people rarely go beyond using the camera's auto setting, but we Engadgeteers also have the option to touch through the menus to squeeze every ounce of pixely goodness from this sexy little camera. Nice job Sony.
